WILFRED BLUNT GIVES NOTICE OF APPEAL. London, Oct. 30.
Mr Wilfred Blunt, who was sentenced to two months’ imprisonment for taking part in a proclaimed Home Rule meeting at Woodford has given notice of appeal, FRENCH WAR OFFICR SCANDAL. M. Wilson, son-in-law of President Grevy, has refunded the treasury of 40,000 francs, supposed to be the cost of six years’ franking letters, and has left Ely see Palace. The repayment of the money is regarded as an admission of his fault. FIGHTING IN ZULULAND, News from Natal states that his Excellency the Governor, Sir Arthur Havelock, has started for Zululand with a strong military support to enforce the submission of King Denizula. BOUNTIES CONFERENCE. Baron De Worms, in his speech at Liverpool, announced that all the Powers concerned had joined the Bounties Conference. AnTAHTIO EXPEDITION. The Colonial Institute has requested the English Government to co-operate with the col jnies in despatching an Antartic expedition. A DENIAL FROM CHURCHILL. Lord Churchill denies the report that he will succeed Lord Lansdowne as Governor-General of Canada. ANOTHER SCOUNDREL. A clerk has robbed £5OOO worth of bonds from Threadneedle street. LATE LADY BRASSEY. Lord Brassey denies that Lady Brassey, maddened by fever, jumped overboard. A GRAND REVIEW. Jefferson Davies reviewed 30,000 veterans, at Macon, North Carolina.
