Says the Sydney Bulletin ; —“ Another instance of a mistake in acclimatising that noxious animal—the fox. A certain " Lady Fox " has resigned her seat on the committee of the Auckland (N.Z.) Kindergarten because the committee bad accepted the ail of a dramatic club performance. ‘ After considerable discussion it was decided to decline the proffered assistance, as the Kindergarten, being a Christian institution, cannot recognise theatrical performances.’ So the she-fox withdrew her resignation, and the Christian committee breathe again.” At the opening of the Kindergarten school a big feast was prepared for the scholars, the food chiefly consisting of heavy plum pudding. One of the Christian committee had undertaken the responsibility of stoning the raisins. The way she got them stoned is worthy of the body of which she was a member. She invited half a dozen young ladies to come and spend the evening, and be sure and bring their music. The young ladies came, but instead of an evening party as they were led to expect, they were asked if they would mind helping to stone a- few raisins. Of course they did not mind. The few raisins took three hours to stone. The young ladies went home again without as much as opening their music. A straw shows which way the wind blows. The ways of some Christian committees are crooked.
