Hospital Sports.
Last night a meeting was held at the Court house to consider the advisability of holding sports in aid of the Hospital, Mr E. K. Brown being voted to. the chair, it was decided to hold sports on 30th November (St. Andrew’s day) in Mr Harris’ paddock I’he following gentlemen were appointed to act in the matter: The Mayor and Chairmen of the County Council and Harbour Board ; Judges, Messrs Crawford, Croft, and Arthur; starter, Captain Winter; handicapper, Mr Primrose; treasurer, Mr E. K. Brown; secretary, Mr H. McKay; assistant secretaries, Messrs C. Lewis and Ji. N. Jones; committee, The Hospital Trustees, the officers, and Messrs W. O. Nkeet, J. Whitby, E. Brown, Ackroyd, F. J. Morgan, T. Morgan, J. D. Harper, L. Izod, and C. Evans. The programme was then entered into and arranged. It was decided to ask the Garrison Band to play on the grouud. The arrangement of a concert was left to the com ' mittce.
