“ Puff” oh the Ministry.
Talking about free institutions, the Major’s been and gone and done it, and no mistake I Yes, he’s dished the Radicals properly I Completely cut the ground from under their feet 1 Do you think the new Ministry will stand ? Stand ? Of course they will I What's to stop it ? Won’t their be a howl in their own party ? Not at all! '1 he party 'll behave like brieks ns they are ! There are so many firstrale men left out! So much the better for the party! The Ministry have got any amount of vim in them, and with a score or two of tip-top slashers at their backs, ready to see them through blades and out the other side, they're bound to score! Won't old Vogel sit up on his rail and howl! Oh, Vogel’s always sanguine and plucky ! He never knows when he’s lieked, and he has’nt got the word funk in his dictionary! Still, it'll be a gall and wormwood to him to see George Fisher grinning at him from his old seat on the Treasury Bench! It's such an almighty enpsizetohim ! Poor devil, I can't help pitying him I Eo immitior quia tolerate'at \ Fisher's had to stand enough from Vogel, and so has every body else who ever stood up against him I Vogel's the most Vindictive and implacable foe when once he’s got bis knife into a chap, and when he thinks he’s safe in office, his arrogance and insolence arc enough to make anybody sick ! I hope our crowd are n« going to imitate him, all the same! Oh so do 1, but I don't see why there should be any snivelling sympathy with Vogel I He never spared any. body in hisjlife, and there are hundreds in misery at this moment through his selfishness andspilefulnes-! Would’nt he have made a gorgeous tyrant, if hi« lot had been cast in a despotic country ? Herod would have been a whole Humane Society compared to him ! I expect he’ll slog in a rum’un in Opposition ! No I fancy he’ll let Seddon and the two It. eveses and Fish and Jaek Kerr and those fellows to do the slogging! He’ll do the doodleumbuck business in the lobbies I I hear Ballance calls himself head of the Liberal party now I Justiike his blooming modesty ! There's a regular split between him and Vogel I Hooray ! When whatyoumaycallits fall out honest men come by their own !
