A Serious Accident.

Auckland, last night.

Three miners named Scott. Reed and Hill, who are working in one ot the mines near Te Aroha, met with a most singular accident last Friday. Scott was preparing some pickaxes for use, and in so doing he plunged one into some water. An explosion immediately took place seriously injuring Reed, who was working near by, and slightly injuring Scott and Hill. It is supposed that some nitro glycerine must have been in the water into which the pick was thrown.
