The Late Election.
(To tee Ewtob/ 81*, —As a supporter of Mr M. J Gannon at the late election 1 am sorry now to hear some of Mr McDonald s supporters openly assert that Mr Gannon was paid by’Mr Graham to go to the poll in order to more easily secure the return of the latter. 1 hat this should have been reported before the election I quite expected, for obvious reasons, but after the contest was over I thought that all such false canards would end, lamin a position to absolutely disprove such a malicious statement. Mr Gannon from the commencement to the finish went to the poll with a desire and expectation of being returned. Up to the declaration of the poll both he and his committee were sanguine of success. Mr Gannon is not the man to sell his supporters in any way, and it is to be hoped that one and all will contradict any of the lying reports they hear being circulated. I can prove them to .be false in every instance, and have done so on more than one occasion. I voted for Mr Gannon, believing he was the best of the three candidates, and would have voted for Mr Graham in preference to Mr McDonald. If any of Mr McDonald’s supporters are willing to back up their assertions I can accomodate them. Again hoping that Mr Gannon’s late supporters will contradict these lying reports, —I am, e lo., Gannosite.
