Ford’s Bankruptcy.

The first meeting ot creditors in the estate ot J. J. Ford, brickmaker, was held in the Official Assignee’s office on Tuesday last. There were twenty-three creditors present. The debtor stated that he filed through pressure ot his creditors. He started with Sommersgill as brickmakers and contractors Neither of them put money in the concern, His private debts and those of the firm amounted to £4BO 5s 7d, and the assets to £l6B. He could not account for the loss as shown in the schedule. There was no deed of partnership; the agreement was verbal. After some discussion it was proposed, and carried “ That the debtor’s partner be made a bankrupt in order that the workmen be paid out of the proceeds of the estate.
