Speaking at a Conservative meeting recently Loid Salisbury said ; "Tile Nonconformist pastor is the leader of the Radical advance,” end " the chapel is the centre of political organization,” Referring to Irish affairs, he compared the Irish National League to a boa constrictor, and the Irish landlord to a rabbit. Lord Roseberry, a few days after, wards, retorted that " whereas the Liberals would conciliate the boa constrictor, the rabbit, hoping that in time the rabbit would eat up the boa constrictor.”
