Northern Elections.
[Special to Standard.] Auckland, Last Night. Messrs J. Macky and T. H. White have announced themselves as candidates for City North. Mr. E. Mitchelson will contest Eden with Mr. Tolo. Mr. A, K. Taylor is ciao spoken of. Mr. D. Goldie is a candidate for City West, and ex Judge Gill intends to try his luck for Tauranga. It is uncertain whether Major Atkinson will ba able to come to Auckland prior to the elections; he will if possible. Mr Ballance may shortly bo expected in Auckland, and will deliver a political address. Mr Jackson Palmer has definitely announced himself for Rodney, Mr Frank Lawry advertises his candidature for Franklin North and announces himself absolutely unpledged to any party. Mr H. W. Jury is a candidate for Newton, ... In the appeal case Manacna v, McArthur, the application has been refused by the Privy Council, and the case io utterly quashed.
