Czech Regime Count Pennies of Church Charities

LONDON, November 10 An Associated Press Prague correspondent says that the Czech Ministry Of Church'Affairs tightened Its gnp over all phases of the nation's religious life to-day, evfen down to counting the pennies given out by religious charity groups. New decrees, promulgated by the Communist-led Government, gave the Church Ministry the final say over what is taught in the seminaries and theological schools and what text-books are to be used. Under the decrees, the Ministry is to supervise all charitable activities of the church and religious groups and see “that religious life develops according to the provisions of the Constitution.”

The Ministry is also to supervise the publishing of all religious information, news and publications, tffi arrangement of all religious lesson-' text-books and teachings, and the restoration and maintenance oG all monasteries and all other religious sites.
