OBITUARY
Miss Alice Stark Tlie deaih occurred at the Wellington Hospital on Thursday, after a brief illness, of M'ss .Alice Stark, aged 72 years. Miss Stark was born at Kumara and had lived for a number of years on the West Coast. She later resided ai Wellington and Sydney. Mr J Stark and Mrs E. Burrell Oobdcn. brother and sister. The Funeral wi‘l take place at Wellington.
Mrs M. Jj Bergstrom
The death occurred at. her residence. the Marquis of Lawn Hotel, Hokitika, yesterday, o< a well-known resident, Mrs Mary Jane Bergstrom. Eorn at Callaghans 82 years ago, she was an esteemed resident, who conducted her hotel with a considerate regard for all with whom sh/ came in contact.
Predeceased by her husband some 48 years ago, she had later entered the hotel business and had conducted the Marquis of Lawn Hotel for the past 40 vears. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs N. Randall, of Hokitika.’ The funeral will leave her latfe residence to-morrow afternoon for a service at All Saints’ Church at 3.30 pm., and thence for the Hokitika Cemetery.
