Red Army Called on For an Improvement

MOSCOW, Nov 6. Russia’s Minister of the Armed Forces, Marshal of the Soviet Union Alexander Vasilevsky, in an order of the day issued to mark the thirtysecond anniversary of the Revolution called on all Soviet servicemen to improve their prowess in the fortncoming winter season of military training. Marshal Vasilevsky said that in the summer training Soviet soldiers had “increased their military political knowledge and heightened their combat steadfastness and endurance.” Messages of greetings and congratulations were sent to M. Stalin on the anniversary of the Soviet Revolution from Yugoslavia, East Germany, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Hungary. Bulgaria, Rumania and Israel. Czechoslovakia’s greeting was carried across the whole country by a relay of runners and handed at the frontier to Soviet officials by the Olympic runner, Emil Zapotek. Not Much of A Change ! Russia has appointed General vassili Ivanovich Chuikov as chairman of the Soviet Control Commission in Germany, established to replace the Soviet military administration, according to Moscow radio.
