MINERS TIED TO BRITISH PITS

LONDON, Nov 2. The Government is considering the removal of the restriction which ties the British miners to the pits from the time thev complete the first nine months training till the age of 50 years. The restriction threatens a further loss in the coal industry. Before the war there were 7<o,UUJ workers in the British mines and now there are 709,000. Mining experts have suggested that this restriction deters young men, who might otherwise become coal miners. The situation is beng examined bj the Ministry of Fuel and Power.
