HOKITIKA AIRFIELD CHANGES HANDS AT £2,817
The Hokitika airfield, on the south side of the river, which will shortly be replaced by the largei' Seaview aerodrome was sold at Hokitika, when the Westland Land Valuation Committee approved of the financial basis of its transfer from Air Travel (N.Z.) Ltd., to the New Zealand National Airways.
The vendor sought £2817 19s 4d for the aerodrome, and this sum was not opposed by the Crown. The committee, therefore, approved of the transaction at this price. The sale includes hangars and administrative buildings, besides the landing field itself. The whole area is just over 13 acres. National Airways have operated the field since the West Coast air services formerly conducted by Air Travel was taken over some two years ago. The committee approved of the following applications at the figure sought, except where otherwise stated:—

W. T. Ogilvie to A. L. Ogilvie, Greymouth property, price £2OO. D. P. Graham to S. G. Wright, 35 acres, Poerua, price £lO5O.
B. W. Marshall to N. R. Reinheimer, Greymouth, price £450 —subject to reduction to £425.
