INCOME TAX AMENDMENT BILL

In the House of Representatives to-night, Rt. Hon. W. Nash moved the second reading of the Land and Income Tax Amendment Bill. He said h e hoped to introduce consolidating tax legislation next year, but the bill dealt in the meantime, with several adjustments which required
attention, removing difficulties from the present law.
Mr C. M. Bowden (Nat. Karori) said an overhaul of income tax law was more than due. The law was now contained in fifty-eight statutes, and there was inevitably some confusion.
