JAP MINERS SUFFOCATED
TOKIO, October 6
Fourteen Japanese coalminers died of suffocation after a fire burned down into a pit at Rumoe, Hokkaido. The fire started when a compressor at the pit entrance overheated, setting light to natural gasses from the shaft.
