WAIROA CHARGES OF FALSE PRETENCES
P.A. GISBORNE, October 6. The hearing of thirty-eight charges of false pretences, and two of theft, against William McLue Ford, aged 25, carpenter, and Desmond Paul O’Connor, aged 23, clerk, both of Wellington, was continued throughout today, and is likely to extend well into to-morrow. Further evidence was given by witnesses of transactions for purchases of cars and trucks in which they had signed blank hire purchase agreements, which, they now alleged, showed figures different from prices quoted them.
