DINOSAUR FOSSIL IN QUEENSLAND

BRISBANE, October 1. Scientists engaged in an oil search have found part of the fossilised skeleton of a giant dinosaur, believed to be at least 100,000,000 years old, near Roma. The site is being kept secret temporarily, while the Queensland Museum authorities decide whether it is worthwhile making excavation to find the remainder of the giant reptile. The part found consists of a section of the dinosaur’s spinal column, approximately 40 feet long. The bone is petrified, showing clearly the various sections of vertebrae. The dinosaur, which probably would be at least 100 feet long, is classified as being of the cretaceous age, making it up to ( 105,000,000 years old.
