Virginia State Taking Over All Of Its; Mines

(Rec. 10.5). NEW YORK, Sept. 28. A state of emergency was declared in the State of Virginia to-day, because there now is a nation-wide coal strike in the United States.

The Governor of Virginia, Mr William Tuck, ordered the State Fuel Commission to take over the control of every Virginian coal mine. He declared: “We are to keep Virginia warm, no matter what it costs”. He said that the Stat e will provide all of the men and the money necessary to mine and to distribute adequate coal supplies. This order will remain effective until the strike ends.
