P.A. AUCKLAND, Sept 28. New national breastroke swimming records were established at the tepid baths tonight by J. Shanahan and C. Callan, both of Waitemata Club. Shanahan swam 220 yards in 2mm 51 4-ssec breaking by the substantia) margin of 5 1-5 secs the New Zealand record of 2min 57sec made earlier this month by T. Eagle (Auckland). Callan, by recording 75 3-ssecs, was successful by 3 4-ssecs in his attack on the record of 79 2-ssec for the 100 metres breastroke, held by Shanahan.
