AUSTRALIAN TEAM FOR EMPIRE GAMES
SYDNEY, September 25 A subsidy to help to defray the cost of sending Australia’s team to the Empire Games in Auckland will be sought from the Federal Govern-
ment. An approach will be made to the Prime Minister, Mr. Chifley, tomorrow, by the chairman of the Empire Games Federation, Mr. H. G. Alderson.
Mr. Alderson will place before Mr. Chifiey a case for presentation to the Federal Cabinet. It is estimated that it will cost Australia £lOO for each athlete and official sent to the Games.
