Toronto Ship Fire Victims Not Yet Fully Numbered

OTTAWA, Sept 18. The death roll in the "Noronic” fire ma v rise to above 118. This number of bodies, mostly charred beyond recognition has been recovered.

Divers went into submerged parts of the ship, but have found no more bodies.

Red Cross officials said that 154 of the 515 passengers were still unaccounted for. They believe that most of these might have returned home without notifying the authorities.

Investigators boarded the ship on Sunday, in an effort to discover the cause of the fire and the reason why it spread so quickly. They believe it began amidships in a bar or cabin and raced through the main deck. Hundreds of people continued to arrive at Toronto to-day in an effort to discover whether relatives were among the victims.
