PROGRESS BY REDS IN SOUTH AND NORTH-WEST
(Rec 9.30) HONG KONG, Aug 22. General Liu Po-chang’s Communist troops, after capturing Tayu, on the Kiangsi-Kwantung border, are now reported to have taken Hsinfeng, in southern Kiangsi province, approximately 180 miles north of Canton. In north-west China, a Communist general, Peng Teh Husia’s _ Sixth Army has reached the outskirts of Lanhcow, the Kansu provincial capital.
