It is stated Woolworths Ltd., have secured a shop in Westport and will open business. Barrytown Dredging Co., will ask shareholders to agree to sell the ’dredge for £85,000 (Australian currency), to Australian interests. The dredge has been idle for four years. The cost of dismantling the dredge to March 31, 1948, was £19,596. The dredge and plant then stood in the books at £124,761. The company, which is Sydney-controlled was formed 15 years ago, with a capital of £128,750. It paid one dividend, 6d per share.
