OBITUARY Miss Eileen M. McGeady
The death took place at Greymouth recently ot Miss Eileen Mary McGeady, aged 36 years, of Doyle street Blaketown. Miss McGeady was born at Reefton, and came to Greymouth as a child, with her parents, Mr and Mrs P. A. McGeady. She had resided for the greater part of her life in the district. Miss McGeady besides her parents is survived, by one sister Mrs L. Temperley (Blaketown) and five brothers, Jack and Athol (Haast, South Westland), James and Leslie (Greymouth) and George (Blackball). The funeral will take place at the Karoro Cemetery this morning, following Requiem Mass at St Patrick’s Church.
Rev. Bro, Gonzales Fraser A native of Greymouth, Rev. Brother Gonzales (Sim) Fraser, of the Marist Brothers’ Order, Melbourne, died there on Friday after an illness lasting for some time. A son of the late Edmund and Catherine Fraser, of Greymouth, Brother Gonzales left here forty-nine years ago to join the Marist Brothers, and after teaching for some time at Napier, he left in 1905 for Australia, where he was at St. Joseph’s College, Hunter’s Hill, Sydney; Glenelg Marist School (South" Australia), and Assumption College in Victoria. He was 66 years of age, and is survived by three brothers, John (Sydney), Courtney (Reefton), and Vincent (Wairoa). Mrs Bridget Cornnbe The death took place yesterday afternoon of one of the oldest residents ot Greymouth, Mrs Bridg.t Coumbe, Shakespeare Street. Born in County Clare. Ireland. 92 years ago, .she came at the age of seventeen to New Zealand and settled in .Rutherglen in the days of the alluvial gridmining, coming to reside in Maryborough Street. Grcymoutb 3 7 vro/s ago. Mrs Coumbo wa? predeceased by her husband, the late Edvnn Coumbv' 42 years ago, and is survived by two daughters.
