U.S.A. Backwoodsmen Go “Kuklux!”
NEW YORK, June 16
About 130 persons were initiated into the Ku Klux Klan on a mountain near Atlanta, Georgia, last night, before a huge cross from which flaming cupots dangled. Hundreds of sheet 0 and hooded spectators yelled and whistled when the leader said that no veal klansman could hate a coloured man because of his colour or a Jew because of his religion, but “God has segregated the races and no law’ passed will supersede God’s law.” A few hours earlier the Alabama Legislature had refused to admit a Bill making mask-weal-ing illegal.
