British Railwaymen Call Off Strike to Resume Negotiations
LONDON, June 1G
The British railway crisis ended tonight. with a move by the striking locomotive crews to call off their unofficial week-end strikes and a decision by the National Union of Railwaymen to resend the four-year-old decision that it was opposed on principle to all duties involving nights spent away from home.
The Union’s executive was instructed to negotiate instead of have all unnecessary lodging turns ended.
