NEW PLYMOUTH GIRL IS MISS N.Z.

P.A. WELLINGTON, June 17. Twenty-year-old ( Mary Daphne Woodward, of Nev; Plymouth, tonight won the Miss New Zealand quest, from the twelve other finalists.

Her win is, a happy pre-birthday gift, for Miss Woodward will be 21 on July 3. She is the daughter of the New Plymouth magistrate, Mr W. H. Woodward, and Mrs Woodward. Her parents were present in the Town Hall when their daughter was announced as Miss Zealand at a well-attended ceremony.
