ARGENTINE FAILS TO CARRY OUT FOOD CONTRACTS
(Received March 24, 10.0 p.m.). LONDON, March 24. The Government took a very serious view of the failure of the Argentine to ship the contracted quantity of food, said Mr John Strachey, in a speech. The Argentine needed Britain’s products, and Britain needed her’s. “We cannot, and shall not reach an agreement, if the Argentine Government fails to live up to its contracts or asks exorbitant term's for new contracts”, he said.
