Another Cut Yet!

(Received March 23, 1.30. a.m.) WASHINGTON, March 23. Senator Robert Taft, the Republican Leader of the Senate, announced that he would move to cut 1,000,000,000 dollars off the European Recovery Bill when it reached the Senate.

Senator Taft said that he had no quarrel with the sum of 4, 80,000,000 dollars for the year starting on July 1, but he thought the sum of 1,150,000,000 dollars proposed for the three months to July. 1 was obviously padded. Senator Taft added, however, that he would vote for the Bill, even if the Senate refused to cut the ammount.
