MATSON LINE LOSSES SAN- FRANCISCO, March 20. The Matson Navigation Company has reported an operating loss of 1804,339 dollars in 1948 on its subsidiary, the Oceanic Steamship Company. which operates four freighters between the Pac’fic coast and New Zealand and Australia. The president of the line (Mr E. Cushin?) said that the Oceanic Company’s future was still uncertain, but all other post-war problems were well on the wav to a satisfactory solution.
