(Our Own Correspondent). Mrs A. Stephens has left on a visit to Temuka. Mr J. Rodden, Dunedin, is spending a few days in the township. Master S. Reid has entered the Christchurch Hospital for treatment. Miss A. Barran, Girls High School, Christchurch, is visiting her father. Mr P. McCabe met with an accident while working at the mine, receiving a severe cut in the forehead which required several stitches) The “Down Our Way” held a successful reunion in the Institute Hall recently. The president, Mr E. Elgin, extended a welcome to new members and then the serious business of the evening was carried out in true “Down Our Way” spirit. Toasts to Southern Sportsmen recalled a very successful year shown in every field by the “Down Our Way” men. A very successful school concert was held last Saturday evening before a packed house, every item being encored. The training of the children reflected great credit on the school master, Mr Maher and the committee Mesdames Stephens, Wynne, Lines junr, Schofield, Elgin and Mr Radford.
