Inangahua Hospital Plans Well Advanced
Good progress wa reported on the plans for the Inangahua Hospital at a meeting of the Hospital Board on Thursday. It was expected that they would be ready soon after Christmas. The architect forwarded details as to estimates for the nurses’ home at follows: Building of home, x06.1b0. steam services laundry and building £13,442; laundry building, £474.0; quantity surveyor’s fee £400; derk of works wages £943; architects fee £3 531 16s; contingencies £2OO, ful. total, £59,411 15s. These did not include any allowance for furnishing. Mrs R. Yellowlees reported that a furniture firm’s representative would supply the beard with an estimate. The question of a loan for the furnishings was raised by members. The acting-secretary (Mr C. Belcher) said that the board would not require a loan for furnishing the home but that ministerial approval would be needed to meet the cost of the work. A resolution was passed that Ministerial appproval be sought by me board for expenditure to cover the cost of furnishing the home. The medical superintendents, report showed the following statistics for the month:—Admissions, 27, discharged 24, in-patients 37, X-rays anaesthetic 21, out-patients 45, births 8. —.
