U.S.A. Aid for China Not Stopping Unless Government is Bad

(N.Z.P.A.—J.EUTER CABLE) (Rec. 11.0). TOKIO, December 17. Mr Paul Hoffman, the United States E.C.A. administrator, has arrived at Tokio from Korea. He said that he has been misreported in some of the papers on his recent statement on aid to, China. He said that what he had intended to convey was that U.S.A aid to China would not necessarily cease as soon as the Government walked out. Continued American aid for China would depend on what type of a Coalition Government was then established. If it were a Liberal Coalition, that might be all right. He said: “We are going to stay and take a look for ourselves”.
