BOWLING Win for Dunollie Rink
Last week-end the West Coast Bowling Centre commenced an extensive programme of fixtures with games at Blackball, Blake town and Dunollie. The fours tournament at Dunollie resulted in a win for J. Armstrong’s rink, compris.ng D. Barnes, N. Pattison. J. Doyle-and J. Armstrong (s). The rink secured four wins to compile 41 points. REYNOLDS BADGES Blackball withstood a Hokitika challenge for the Reynolds badges at Blackball winning by 131 points to 96. The scores with the Blackball rinks mentioned first in each case were: Pascoe (s), Park, Beattie, Laverv beat Benjamin (s), Ballinger, C. Fleming, Cropp, 29/12; Griffin <s), Brown, Lowry, Pirrie beat Hoffman (s), Watson, Sherman. Ross 41/13; Boyd (s), Clark, Adamson beat 11. Fleming (s), Sullivan, Smart, IJavill 23/20; Goulay (s), R. Walker, Green, Henderson lost to Breeze (s), Gillespie, Salvigny. McCormack 18/22; Jamieson (s). Dodds. .Quibell, Walker lost to Coxhill, Neilson, Fane, Gilchrist 29/30. On Sunday Blackball will- play Cobden at the Blackball green. KELLS BUTTONS The first challenge for the Kells Buttons was played at Blackball between Blaketown (holders) and Reefton (challengers), and resulted in a win for Blaketown, by 146 points to 94. Della Donna’s four won by the greatest number of points (35/lo) and will hold the buttons. Scores were: E. Collins, J. Oakley, A. Innes, W. Dove (28) v J. Banks Schroder, Collins, Quinn (23); Sandman, Willis, Collins, Longstaff (28) v A. Archer, G. Archer, R. Irving W. Archer (19); McKenzie Sneddon, Hogarth, Lyall (35) v McDonald, Fairest, Mori, Jenkins (15); T. Wilts. Lark, Spender, Brennan (20), v Read Richards, Knapp, Auld (23); Zampese, Webber, Dixon, Della Donna (35; v Hill, Allen, Foreman, Gallagher (13). Greymouth Club The Greymouth Club's pairs and singles championship rounds have been continued, under the two-life system. 1111 In the singles, Hughes beat McMillan. and results in the pairs are as follows: —Strongman and Crankshaw beat Richardson and Kilgour; Prescott and Haglund beat Muschamp and Congreve; Wylie x and Lancaster beat Pyne and Thomas.
