WOMEN’S INSTITUTES
MOANA Mrs Price presided at the. December meeting of the Moana Women’s Institute, with a good attendance. The meeting opened with the singing oi the Ode. New members were welcomed, with three visitors from tne Kotuku Women’s Institute. Mrs P. Brererton read the aspirations. The motto, “We pass this way but once-, was well responded to by Mrs Brereiton, as well as the roll call, “The best joke”, which caused much fun. A demonstration, kindly sent down by Mrs Baty, who was unable to be present, was given by one of . rnem J ) ® rs ' Competitions and novelties weie en joyed, and carols were , while songs were given by J. Dalziel anti E. Hocking. Competitions resulted: Christmas gift, not more than 2s 6d, Mrs Price 1, best bloom, Mrs Price 1. An exchanges o aifts then took place, and afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Greenhill, Murphy, and Ki Mrs Brererton thanked all foi a very enjoyable day, and extended y hearty w.elcome to Kotuku mtmw Mrs Price extended thanks and wis ed all a merry Christmas, Themeet ing closed with the singing of Defend New Zealand’.
