Thirteen Cases of Whisky Stolen at Westport
The theft of thirteen cases of whisky, comprising a consign.--aent on a vessel at Westport, was reported by the police last evening. Inspector M. J. Angland, of the Greymouth police, in reply to a question, stated that enquiries were made in Westport by Detective-Sergeant N. Thompson and Detective M. R. Stewart, of Greymouth, who had arrested two persons for stealing and three others for receiving. The police recovered a large quantit" of the stolen whisky. Five persons are to appear in the Westport Police Court this morning in connection with the theft.
