New Pleasure Craft Launched At Lake Brunner

Probably one of the trimmest boats ever builc on tne West Coast, the four-berth cabin (cruiser (’‘Escape, was launched at Mitchells on Lake Brunner, during the week-end by the owner, Mr. Ashley Warnes of Palmerston Street, Greymouth. With an overall length of 26 feet, the vessel has an eight-foot beam and is equipped with a 65 h.p. petrol engine and will meet all marine requirements. She is fully electrified throughout, and is equipped with an electric bilge pump. Trial runs at the week-end showed the craft to be perfectly balanced and seaworthy and capable of a speed of about eight to ten knots. Lined with double-skinned cedar, the launch is timbered with Oregon and kauri. She was constructed by Mr. Warnes in his spare time over the last three years.
