BOXING WIN FOR THREE AUCKLANDERS
PA. AUCKLAND. Nov. 1 Three of Auckland’s leading amateur boxers each scored a win in his first professional fight, when a triplebill programme was presented in the Town Hall to-night. The New Zealand light and heavyweight amateur champion, Barney Clarke, 12st 21b., won a points decision over Peter Cochrane, 12st in the mam bout, of an eight-round contest. _ In two six-round welter-weight preliminaries, Doug. Godward (lOst 71b) won in the third round on a technical knock-out from Joe (Griffiths (lOst and Neil Stanley (lOst 6Ubl knocked out Doug. Hendry of Waihi (lOst 71b) in the second round. „
