Selecting Next “Miss New Zealand”

The memoers are; Air chief Marshall Sir Keith Park, Mrs 0. Basham, Messrs A. Burrow (Air Secretary), M. Clarke (general manager of the National Airways Corporation), Hume d. Christie (president of the R.N.Z. Aero Club), E. A. Tarrant (N.Z. Junior Chamoei 01 commerce), H. A. Davy, R. J. Sinclair, F. E. Whimp and K. W. Kilpatrick (executive director). Mr Sinclair said the contest would be conducted on the same lines as the recent “Miss New Zealand” quest, in which Miss Mary Wootton was successful. The candidates would be required to raise £lOO nomination fee. The proceeds would create a fund for the establishment of memorial centres throughout the Dominion. The quest would be officially launched on February 1, 1949, said Mr Kilpatrick, but further details would be available after the first meeting of the directors in Wellington on Novemoer 10.
