WELLINGTON, Oct. 28 The Wellington taxi proprietors intend to apply to the Supreme Court for a writ to prohibit the granting of 20 more taxi licences by the Metropolitan Licensing Authority. This was announced to-day by a representative of the Wellington branch of the Taxi Proprietors’ Federation, when the authority sat to allocate extra licences in accordance with a decision it reached last week. To allow time for the application to be made, the authority adjourned until November 5. There were £)1 applicants for taxi licences.
