ARMED MAN STILL ELUDES THE POLICE OF NEW PLYMOUTH

P.A. NEW PLYMOUTH, cc-. 27 Although an armed man, for whom the New Plymouth police have been combing the district night and day, had not been run to earth at a lace hour to-night, two theories concerning his recent movements are held by the police. One is that he returned to New Plymouth on Tuesday night, after a chase towards Omata; and the other is that he may now be on his wav to Auckland.

Supporting the latter theory is the fact that a car removed from Westown last night was recovered to-day at Te Kauwhata, fifty-four miles south of Auckland.
