OBITUARY
Mr Benjamin Williams An old resident of Blackball, where he was well-known in musical circles Mr Benjamin John Williams, died at his home yesterday morning, aged 68 years. A native of Merryweather, New South Wales th e late Mr Williams came to Blackball as a young man, and entered the mining industry. He rose to the position of deputy for the old. Blackball Coal Company. He was in later years employed at Haisty’s store.. Besides his wife, Mr Williams leaves two sons, Roy (Christchurch), and Jack (Blackball), also three daughters, Mesdames L. Kinsella and W. Mountford (Blackball) and H. Flynn (North Auckland). The funeral takes place to-morrow afternoon, leaving the residence for the Blackball Cemetery.
