EIRE AND U.S.A. NEGOTIATING TREATY OF TRADE & FRIENDSHIP
DUBLIN, October 15. The Eire Department of External Affairs announced that negotiations have been resumed for a treaty o' friendship, commerce and nevi gat; or between the United States and Eire It would be the most comprehensive of its kind Eire has undertaken with any nation. . + or m The treaty aims at a long-term contractual basis for economic relations between the two countries an will give Eireann ships enterin American ports most favoured nation treatement, including a reduction, o dues American ships will receive similar privileges in Eireann ports The treaty is also expected tc facilitate the operation of the Mar shafl Aid Plan ,which is on a loan basis, to Eire.
