(Our Own Correspondent). MILLERTON, Oct 17. Mrs A. Furness is visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs J. Perrie, of Millerton. Mrs D. McMillan left last week for Christchurch. ... Mrs A. Bodger has been visiting Christchurch. The local ladies hockey club held a kitchen evening in the Community Hall for Miss A. Sharpe, who is being married shortly to Mr v. Milligan. There was a large number of friends present a.«*d a very enjoyable evening was held with dances, games and other items. Music was supplied by Mrs Boswell and Mr W. Milligan and a solo was given by Miss Sharpe. The happy couple were the recipients of a large number of attractive anu useful gifts for their future home Millerton Thistle Soccer Cluo hold a smoke concert in the Community Hall recently. Mr F. Plummes presiding. The usual toasts were honoured', after which numerous vo.eal items were rendered.
