Company Director on Charge of Bank Robbery
AUCKLAND, October 17. The suspect arrested after the armed hold-up and robbery at the Bank of New Zealand agency at Par-’ nell came before the Magistrate’s Court this morning. He was Edward John Patrick Phelan, aged 24, described on the charge sheet as a company director, residing at Milford. He was charged that, being armed with a .45 automatic pistol, he robbed Clark Wilson McCorkmdale of £340, the property of the bank, By consent of counsel for the defence (Mr C. E. Clarke) me accused w’as remanded until Thursday.
