MOTORIST KILLED IN AUCKLAND SMASH

P.A. AUCKLAND. October 17. When a motor car overturned on the West Coast Road, Glen Eden, at 9 p.m. on Saturday, the driver was killed.

He was Denis Frederick Clement, aged 24, boilermaker, of Torbay. With three companions, Francis Andrew Collier, Leslie Heron, and Roy James Reed, deceased was driving toward Glen Eden from Avondale. While turning a corner, the car skidded and rolled along the road coming to rest in the gateway of a house. Deceased. Collier and Heron, were thrown out of the car. All three passengers suffered cuts and bruises, and were treated at the Auckland Hospital.
