W.F.T.U. Opposed By Britain
LONDON, September 9. Mr E. J. Volz, the American delegate attending the T.U.C. conference, said he hoped a new international trade union movement would replace the World Federation of Trade Unions. Mr Volz, •. commenting, on the defeat yesterday of a resolution reaffirming T.U.C. support of the W.F.T.U., said: “We expected this to happen”. It is generally believed that Mr Arthur Deakin, who will attend the Paris meeting of the W.F.T.U. executive bureau next week, sounded the death sentence of the W.F.T.U. in. his speech yesterday.
