RUGBY FOOTBALL CHARITY MATCH TO-DAY SHOULD HAVE APPEAL
To-day, at Rugby Park, West Coast followers of rugby will have their last opportunity of seeing in action the men who will carry Coast’s challenge for the Seddon Shield into Buller territory next week. In addition, the game between Greymouth A and B is being staged for the worthy cause of the Lepers' Fund, and this should ensure a large attendance. In strict training, the West Coast side which will contest the Seddon Shield is being carefully coached, md should give more than a good account of itself. In addition to' Mr R. R. King, the former All Black captain, who is coaching the forwards, Mr G.' J. Gaffaney, former South Canterbury and South Island representative, is imparting his knowledge to the backs. Concentrated training, as earlier matches this season showed, is most necessary if West Coast are to give Buller the hardest struggle of the year to retain the Shield in their, last match. SIXTH GRADE TEAM The following West Coast sixth grade representative rugby team has been selected to play Canterbury at Rugby Park to-day:— Mayell, Conaghan, Stratford, Negri, Smith, Skirton, Lark, Inkster, Myerscroft, Veale, D. Mason, Greenslade, Sadler, Preston, Rushton. Emergencies: Porter, McDermott, Bellis, Mason, Ashton.
