ANOTHER CABINET FOR FRANCE

Queuiile as Premier And Finance Minister (Rec. 10.10). LONDON, Sept. 9. Reuter’s correspondent at Paris says:—Dr. Queuiile has confirmed he would appear before the National Assembly this (Friday) afternoon. He intended to take over the post of Finance Minister besides Premiership. PARIS, Sept. 9 Dr Queuiile told a President Auriol that he will form a Government and will present himself before the Assembly to-morrow or Saturday. The Socialist Party earlier announced that it would support Dr Queuiile. Dr Queuiile also had announced the support of the M.R.P., his own Radical Socialists and probably other smaller moderate groups. The British United' Press correspondent says Dr Queuiile called for a truce in the party warfare to enable him to form a “save the franc” Government of all parties, except the Communists. He said the failure to form a Government would overwhelm France in disastrous inflation. For the second day in succession powerful cordons of police and security guards, in battle kit and carrying sub-machine-guns surrounded President Auriol’s residence, the Elysee Palace. Guards halted hundreds of workers marching towards the palace but allowed deputations inside to present petitions for wage increases.
